*Alanna's feet are cold.
This in and of itself is not particularly unusual, but she feels like they should be warmer. Frowning, she rubs them against each other and opens her eyes, blinking when she spies the person wrapped up in blankets with her.
Adam.
It is probably a good thing that he can not see just how bright her smile gets. She sits up, tossing another log on the fire. It's quite early still, and she looks toward her room with a small sigh. The log doesn't do much to rebuild the fire, but stoking it would require moving. She lies back down, kissing Adam's cheek, and gathers a small ball of purple fire to fling at the flames. Her Gift does the trick.
Content, she snuggles closer and puts both frigid feet on his legs.*

I am terribly sorry. Truly.
no subject
If you were really sorry, you wouldn't have done it in the first place.
*There's the hint of a smile on his face, though.*
no subject
Quiet, I was sleeping.
*She closes her eyes, smirking.*

*He pokes her in the side. Gently!

I can occasionally be evil, it is true. *She smiles.* Maybe I just missed you. Or maybe I am helpless against my self-preservation instincts.

*He makes no move to free his stolen hand.*
You Trebonds are out to get me.
no subject
Is that so? Thom's not out to get you. He just refuses to admit he likes you. I'm so thankful I did not get saddled with his stubborn nature.
no subject
Though I'm not so sure he likes me so much anymore.

*Confused, she sets his hand on her waist and brushes his hair back.*

Pardon? *She blinks.* When?
Why?

Oh?
Oh. About... the wedding? But we had a decent time, I thought.
Um, I am sorry.
no subject
Why didn't you tell me?
no subject
I... I told you I was worried.
no subject
*He shakes his head.*
Nevermind. Nevermind.
no subject
*She doesn't look up, but her arms tighten around him for a moment.*
no subject
Upset.
no subject
...Yes. But not at you. Part of it was residual emotions from when I thought you two had killed each other, and I was sitting in that tree, powerless to do anything about it. Also, Indy had just told me Mel might not be able to get home, and then you were gone too...
*Alanna lifts her head, eyes bright with emotion. She quickly schools her features and bites her lip. Hard.*
Yes, I was upset. I missed you. I thought... But, Adam... Thom is not a knight. *She shrugs, hoping he can see there's more to that than a mere statement of fact.* I understand that sometimes things just need doing. Like when I trekked out into that blizzard to fight Old Chitral - I didn't necessarily want to go. But I had to. And Liam couldn't understand that.
*She swallows.*

So, yes. I was upset. Upset, but not angry.
It is an important clarification to me.
no subject
Why didn't you tell me?
no subject
Why would I? You were here and safe, and I was happy to see you. Why make you feel guilty for something I understood you had to do?
*There's much more to it than that, and she sucks in a breath, words failing her.*
no subject
I could make a fair guess of it, yeah.*
I guess I just thought you could tell me things.
